Electrical Tagging and Testing

 

Program Overview

 

The Electrical Tagging and Testing program is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required for working in the area of inspection, testing and tagging of single phase low voltage portable electrical equipment using portable appliance testers (PATs).

 

Program Outcomes

 

Participants will be able to demonstrate their competency in the following areas

 

· Apply the relevant Commonwealth Legislation, Regulations and Australian Standard requirements for tagging and testing single-phase low voltage portable electrical equipment

· Explain and understand basic electrical concepts associated with the inspection and testing of single-phase low voltage portable electrical equipment

· Carry out inspection and testing of single-phase low voltage portable electrical equipment

 

Program Content

 

This program will involve training in:

 

· Australian Standards AS3760 and Commonwealth Legislation and Regulations

· Basic Electrical Testing Concepts

· Electrical Equipment Testing

· Testing and Tagging Documentation Requirements

 

Accreditation

 

· UEENEEP008B Conduct in-service safety of electrical cord assemblies and cord connected equipment.
