Safety, Mining and Resource Training Services (SMART™)

What Is SMART ?

Safety, Mining and Resource Training (SMART™) exists to provide holistic training services in safety, compliance, induction, licensing and Nationally Accredited Qualifications to the mining, resource and extractive industries. SMART™ participants undertake training from a suite of pre-employment and up-skilling programs designed to increase their ability to gain and maintain employment, and work safely and efficiently in the sector.

SMART™ Industry Up-Skilling Program

The SMART™ Industry Up-Skilling Program focuses on ensuring all employees within the Mining and Resource Sector are safe and compliant in their day to day activities. This can include a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process and training to obtain a Nationally Accredited Qualification at Certificate II, Certificate III or Diploma level from the DRT03 Drilling Industry Training Package. This program exceeds the requirements of the Queensland Governments Department of Mines and Energy competency standard for the petroleum and gas drilling industry.

The SMART™ Induction and Compliance Program

The SMART™ Induction and Compliance Program is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge required to work in the mining and resource sector. Many employers in the mining and resource sector recognise the SMART™ Induction and Compliance Program as a minimum entry requirement in their organisations. For more information please see SMART™ Induction & Compliance Program.
